Biography of Ukrainian playwright Vasil Berezhnoy, who has written 'mother's voice' story

Vasil Berezhnoy is a Ukrainian playwright best known for his story “Mother’s Voice.” Born in 1967 in the Ukrainian city of Lviv, Berezhnoy studied at the Lviv University of Theater, Film, and Television. He graduated in 1991 and went on to pursue a career in playwriting.

Berezhnoy’s first play, “Mother’s Voice,” was produced in 1995 and received critical acclaim, winning awards at the Kiev International Film Festival and the International Theater Festival in Odessa. The play has since been performed in several countries, including Germany, Italy, Austria, and Russia.

Berezhnoy’s other works include “The Black and White of Love,” “The Last Day,” “Dreamers,” and “The City of the Dead.” He has also written screenplays for films such as “The Existence of Heaven,” “The Price of Life,” and “The Last Day.”

Berezhnoy’s plays often explore the themes of love and loss, as well as the relationship between parents and children. He is a passionate advocate for social justice and has been involved in several charitable causes, including the rebuilding of schools in Ukraine.

Berezhnoy currently lives in Kiev, Ukraine, where he continues to write plays and screenplays. His work has been translated into several languages, including English, French, and German. He has been recognized for his contributions to Ukrainian theater and was awarded the Medal of Honor by the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture in 2018.
