- Story of The Ant and the Dove
Once upon a time, an ant was passing by a river when suddenly it slipped and fell in. The ant was about to drown when a dove swooped down and plucked it out of the water with its beak. Grateful for the dove’s help, the ant thanked it and said it would be sure to repay the favor someday.
The dove smiled and said it was nothing, but the ant insisted. A few days later, the dove was walking through a meadow when a hunter set up his net and captured it. The ant, who had been watching from a nearby tree, quickly ran to the dove’s aid and started to gnaw through the net with its tiny teeth. Eventually, the ant was able to free the dove, who thanked the ant and flew away.
The moral of the story is that no act of kindness is ever too small, and that even the smallest of creatures can be heroes if they put their minds to it.
