- Story of The Fox and the Grapes
Once upon a time, there was a fox who was very hungry. He had been searching everywhere for food, but he couldn't find anything. So, he decided to climb up a tree to see if he could find something to eat. At the top of the tree, he saw a bunch of juicy, ripe grapes. He was so excited that he could hardly contain himself. He jumped up and tried to grab the grapes, but he was too short and he couldn't reach them. Frustrated, he decided to try again, but still he could not reach the grapes. Finally, he gave up and declared that the grapes must be sour anyway.
This story is often used to illustrate the concept of "sour grapes", which is when someone wants something they can't have, so they say it wasn't worth having anyway.
